Why Users Love Our Health iPASS One-Time Payments Feature

Health iPASS has grown by leaps and bounds since its founding in 2013. We’ve added customers, employees, specialties, and oh—our features! We started out as revenue cycle management company that focused on the dollars that are the hardest to collect—the ones that come directly from the patient. As time went on, we added a variety of other great features and solutions to our platform, including 100% mobile check-in with digital forms.

Despite all these advancements, we are at heart dedicated to getting practices and healthcare systems paid those patient-responsible dollars that so often turn into bad debt. Our development team works hard for continuous improvement to our payment functionality. Often, we are inspired to add additional features based on user feedback to make their Health iPASS experience the best it can be. That’s why we created our One-time Payments feature.

Here’s what the One-time Payments feature is all about. Basically, it allows users to collect patient payments outside the usual mobile or in-person check-in workflow. One-time Payments does not require your staff to register a patient in order to apply a payment or deposit to their account. That way, you can easily accept payments in cases where registration would not make sense. For example, sometimes a patient walks in with a paper bill and wants to make a payment or a deposit without an appointment. Another popular use case is when the patient does have an appointment and used the Express Check-in feature but did not pay through that workflow for one reason or another. Lastly, patients may wish to pay a deposit, co-pay, or other payment over the phone. One-time payment works well for all of these instances and more.

Here’s how it works:

  • Payments automatically post to the patient balance or as a deposit according to your input
  • Users can select which merchant accounts from which to accept funds
  • Transactions appear within the Health iPASS dashboard
  • Patients receive a real-time electronic receipt via email

We’ve received lots of positive feedback from our users on this helpful feature that creates greater payment flexibility for our clients and their patients. For more information on One-time Payments, contact your Dedicated Client Success Manager, or click here to schedule a demo
