Business Challenges and How to Improve

The rise in high-deductible health plans (HDHP) has led to a 29.4 percent increase in patient financial responsibility since 2015.  The challenge is not only collecting revenue from patients, but also making sure the patients know what they owe.  This challenge is especially acute for high-volume specialties, such as Allergy and Asthma medical practices that have many patients coming and going for ongoing treatment.

After an in-depth assessment of ways to improve the practice, Colorado Allergy & Asthma Centers concluded that it needed a patient revenue cycle solution that could address these issues and that solution was Health iPASS.

Implementing the Health iPASS solution

Colorado Asthma & Allergy have been using the Health iPASS check-in and patient revenue cycle solution since April 2018.  There were some initial patient enrollment challenges as the practice team worked to engage patients. However, after the Health iPASS Client Success team returned to develop a patient engagement action plan, the practice team saw an increase in patient enrollment the very next month.

Partnering with Health iPASS has enabled Colorado Allergy and Asthma to lower days in A/R, reduce the cost to collect, and redefine their patient revenue cycle with an end-to end- solution that directly addresses their particular business challenges and the results have been impressive.
